Ms. Atanaska Nikolova is personally committed to the topic of sustainable development of the regions and the implementation of a fair transition to a low-carbon economy.
As Deputy Minister of Environment for Water in two regular governments and a caretaker cabinet, he heads the departments "Climate Change Policies", "Environmental Policies", "Coordination of European Union Affairs and International Cooperation".
Mrs. Atanaska Nikolova also has experience in local self-government. As Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Burgas with departments "European Policies and Programs" and "Environment" aims to improve the quality of life of citizens and make Burgas a model for a green, smart and sustainable city.
A public figure and active participant in civic initiatives, as well as non-governmental organizations, Ms. Atanaska Nikolova leads international projects in the field of environmental protection and sustainable local development, including major infrastructure projects funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds.
She currently works for the Economic and Social Council of the Republic of Bulgaria.
