Mr. Kosyo Stoychev is a lecturer at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”, Head of the Regional and Political Geography Department at the Faculty of Geology and Geography. He is a doctor and associate professor of economic and social geography with scientific interests in regional development and localization analysis. The courses taught are Geography of the World Economy; Spatial planning and settlement planning; Methods of regional analysis; Regional development policies and others. He is a leader Master's program "Regional Studies and Resilient Regions".
Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Kosyo Stoychev is an active participant in the non-governmental sector - Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Regional Science Association - BARI, XX section of European Association for Regional Studies in Europe, member of the Board of the Association of Professional Geographers and Regionalists, and other NGOs.
His professional experience is related to research in the fields of theory and practice of regional development, localization analysis, energy transition and spatial transformation, spatial cross-border cooperation, and others. He has participated in over 20 national and international projects funded by the EU Structural Funds. Manager of Regioplan EOOD specialized in the development of strategic and analytical documents.
